Fan Coil

The fan coil is the indoor component of a heat pump system. It includes the fan and the heating/cooling coil. The fan coil is designed for a particular refrigerant, so it must be matched with the heat pump or air conditioner.

We have a variety of high-performance fan coil and blower units – including both air- and water-cooled models – that can be used to design a complete air handling system. Whereas typical single speed systems go on at full blast and then shut off, our fan coils react to the temperature when a call is made. They incrementally increase airflow and output, so your desired thermostat temperature is met more evenly and without overpowering blasts of air. This managed function is what makes it possible to keep an indoor environment comfortable, even if the weather outside ranges from scorching to freezing.

The No. 1 complaint with standard fan coils is the punch of cold air that hits you in the face when it starts at full speed. Our high-efficiency, variable-speed fan coils automatically adjust to avoid this problem by offering a gentle and consistent flow of air in the home when needed based on activity level or time-of-day. This not only boosts comfort, but increases overall satisfaction in residential, commercial and hospitality environments.

Fan coil systems also come with the added benefit of reducing operational noise. Since the fan doesn’t run at full speed all night long, you won’t even notice the sound in those places such as in a bedroom, office or hotels where other fans are too loud. The noisier environment results in a more relaxed setting and dependable functionality.

In addition to comfort and acoustics, variable speed and multi-speed fan coils also improve energy efficiency. They also run at real-time speed demand, meaning they use less energy in comparison to fixed-speed units which may help keep utility costs low over the years. Thanks to their contemporary design, smart performance and easy handling our fan coils are a smart solution for efficient and comfortable indoor climates for many years to come.

The fan coil is the indoor component of a heat pump system, and it plays a central role in the overall efficiency and comfort that the system provides. It consists of two essential parts: the fan and the heating or cooling coil. Together, these elements are responsible for circulating conditioned air throughout the indoor environment. Importantly, a fan coil is engineered to work with a specific type of refrigerant, meaning it must be properly matched with the corresponding heat pump or air conditioner. This compatibility ensures that the unit operates at peak efficiency while delivering reliable performance. Without the right pairing, a fan coil may not perform correctly, which could lead to inefficiencies, increased energy consumption, or even system damage.

Modern fan coils are designed with flexibility in mind, offering variable and multi-speed features that significantly enhance indoor comfort. Unlike older or more basic models that blast air at full force once the system turns on, these advanced fan coils can gradually adjust their operation. By slowly ramping up to the desired thermostat setting, they create a more balanced and comfortable indoor climate. This gradual adjustment reduces the temperature swings that often occur with single-speed models, keeping the indoor environment more stable and pleasant.
