AC Replacement in Richardson, Plano & Dallas

Signs it may be time to replace your AC

• A major part has failed, such as the compressor or the outdoor coil, and the repair price is a large share of what a new system costs.
• It keeps breaking down. You’ve paid for several repairs in the last couple of summers.
• It can’t keep up on hot afternoons, even after repairs and maintenance.
• Your energy bills keep climbing while the house is no more comfortable.
• Some rooms are always hot, or the house feels sticky and humid.
• The system is older and uses an older refrigerant that is now expensive to service.
• You’re already replacing the furnace or air handler, and matching the indoor and outdoor equipment makes sense.

None of these on its own means you must replace. They’re the reasons to ask for an honest comparison of repair and replacement prices.

Repair or replace? How we help you decide

If your AC is broken right now, we start by finding out exactly what’s wrong. Then we give you upfront prices for the repair, and for replacement if it’s worth considering, and explain the trade-offs in plain language: age and condition, how often it’s failed, and what the repair actually fixes. If a repair is the smart move, we’ll say so. You make the call.

Not sure what’s wrong yet? Start with AC repair. The $89 diagnostic is waived when you go ahead with the repair.

Choosing the right new system

The right system depends on your home, not on what’s easiest to sell. We look at:

• Size (capacity). A system that’s too big turns on and off too often and leaves the house humid. One that’s too small runs constantly. We size it to your home.
• Air conditioner or heat pump. A heat pump cools in summer and heats in winter. A central AC pairs with a gas or electric furnace. We’ll explain which fits your home and how you heat it now. See heat pumps.
• Efficiency. Higher-efficiency equipment can cost less to run but costs more upfront. We’ll explain the options so you can choose what makes sense for how long you plan to stay.
• Ductwork and airflow. A new system won’t perform well on ducts that leak or are undersized. We check them and tell you what we find.
• Thermostat. We make sure the thermostat is compatible with your new system and set up correctly.

Our AC replacement process

1. Home visit. We look at your current equipment, the home, the ductwork and any comfort problems you’ve noticed.
2. Options and upfront price. You get clear options and the price before any work starts.
3. Installation. Our team removes the old equipment and installs the new system, with care for your home.
4. Start-up and testing. We start the system, check refrigerant and airflow, and confirm it’s cooling the way it should.
5. Walk-through. We show you how to use the thermostat and change the filter, and answer your questions.

Replacing your heating at the same time

Many homes pair the AC with a gas furnace or an electric air handler. If your heating equipment is also old or failing, replacing both together can make sense, because the indoor and outdoor parts are designed to work as a matched system. We’re licensed for gas work and can handle the furnace side too. Learn more about heating system replacement.
